Weddings and Parties

Mady and mic The majority of Mady Kaye's engagements are private parties and wedding receptions. She has a wealth of experience in all kinds of situations, from anniversary parties to holiday parties to cabaret shows for special events to wedding receptions and ceremonies. Special attention is given to brides.

Mady Kaye is also a classical flutist. She often provides music for wedding ceremonies, either as a soloist or with piano or guitar accompaniment. If vocals play a part in the wedding ceremony, Ms. Kaye often accompanies herself on guitar. In dancing situations, all of Mady Kaye's repertoire is appropriate for ballroom dancing.

Jazz standards make up the largest proportion of her song list. Songs by such composers as George and Ira Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter and Andrew Lloyd Webber are perfect for swing dancing or close, romantic dancing. Latin songs provide dancers with opportunities to rhumba, samba, tango or cha cha. Polkas and waltzes abound. Ms. Kaye also has some classic Broadway, country, pop and rock & roll up her sleeve to round out the party. Sorry, no top 40. Song list is available upon request.

Band Size

In public, Ms. Kaye often performs in a trio: piano, upright bass and vocals. For small parties or receptions, this can work quite well. For a dancing crowd, adding a drummer is a necessity. Horn(s) can be added and/or guitar for a bigger band sound. All things are possible. Ms. Kaye also has a complete big band book, with classic hits from the big band era. The band can range in size from ten to seventeen players, depending on the size and needs of the party.

Shows

Mady Kaye has created custom Cabaret shows for dozens of functions, from 50th wedding anniversaries to Symphony luncheons to awards banquets to fundraisers: short shows, longs shows, funny shows, romantic shows, corporate shows. You name it. Song lyrics can be created for any situation, making the event unique and very personal.
