Vocal Instruction and Production

Mady Kaye has been offering private vocal instruction in Austin since 1975. Her first vocal classes were at Capitol City Playhouse in the mid 1970's. She now teaches exclusively in her own studio, one on one, and sometimes with small groups of band members.

Along the way, Ms. Kaye has presented Vocal Performance Workshops at the Armstrong Community Music School of the Austin Lyric Opera. She has also been a regular presenter of Vocal Performance Workshops through the annual Women in Jazz Concerts and affiliated workshops.

Ms. Kaye started her own vocal study at the age of thirteen. She pursued her vocal training through college and graduate school, and during the years she lived in New York. Her early training was in bel canto. In New York Ms. Kaye continued her studies with a jazz vocal coach. Mady Kaye holds two degrees in music: a B.A. from Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT, and certification from the Kodaly Musical Training Institute, Wellesley, MA.

Vocal Production

Mady Kaye has been actively involved in vocal production in the studio for the last ten years or more. If you are recording a CD or demo, she can help you get the best possible results from your singing while you are in the studio, and/or in post-production during the vocal editing process. Ms. Kaye is very familiar with Pro Tools and all the perks it offers the singer, from improvement in intonation to tempering of vibrato to minimization of consonant attack.
